Living Missionally

At Grassroots, we believe a lot of ministry is not programmed.  It happens in our day to day life among neighbors, family, friends, and co-workers.  We encourage people to see their life as mission.  When we do, ministry happens all the time.

Though we have some programs and events, we mostly try to help people live missionally.  To love people and share Jesus in everyday life.

We believe love is verb, more than an idea.  And we believe the church should be the most loving community of people in the world.  If you are looking for more ways to love people and do ministry, here are some ideas:

Local:

  • Become a Big Brother/Big Sister.
  • Volunteer/Tutor at your local public school.
  • Invite your neighbor (literally) over for dinner.
  • Cut your neighbor’s lawn, rake their leaves, or shovel their driveway.
  • Coach a kid’s teams.  Be a role model.
  • Donate blood.
  • Adopt a child, or become a phenomenal foster parent
  • Turn off the computer/TV and spend time with people.
  • Get involved in:  Love Inc., Sharefest, Carpenter’s Place, Rescue Mission, etc.

Or, just express God’s love in whatever unique way you are wired.  But do it!

Globally, get involved with:

  • Compassion International
  • Wine to Water
  • Kids Around the World
  • Restore International

This list can get real long… you get the idea.  Just remember, love is a verb.
